
Yancheng Port Dafeng Terminal Launches New Berth Project
Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation (Yang Ming) has announced a fleet optimization plan, including the addition of 13 new 8,000-15,000 TEU container ships to replace aging vessels and enhance route operations. The company is evaluating energy-saving technologies and adopting clean energy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. To boost capacity, Yang Ming has also leased 25 vessels with total rental costs ranging between NTD 31.27 billion and NTD 40.87 billion. Furthermore, Yang Ming has formed a new alliance with Ocean Network Express (ONE) and HMM to address Hapag-Lloyd's withdrawal from THE Alliance. As of December 23, 2024, Yang Ming ranks 10th globally in operational capacity, with 59 owned vessels and 38 leased vessels.
